The challenge

A group operating cinemas, hotels and entertainment venues ran its procure-to-pay process on Coupa in Australia, with a SUN finance system behind it.

Growth into Asia was the pressure. Each new operating country risked becoming its own invoice process, with its own workarounds, sitting outside the automation the group had already paid for.

What we did

Valtatech delivered the group's Coupa procure-to-pay implementation and then extended it, workstream by workstream, as the business grew.

A Peppol access point was built and the group registered on the network, so suppliers in Australia and New Zealand can send invoices and credit notes electronically. Valtatech Invoice AI was configured to capture invoices at line-item level rather than header level, which is what makes automated matching possible. A cXML connection was configured directly into the Coupa environment for suppliers who transact that way.

New markets were then brought onto the same build: a Singapore business unit with its own chart of accounts, and subsequently Thailand. Each addition is configuration on an existing platform, not a fresh implementation.

THE OUTCOME

One automation platform serving four markets, extended as the group grew rather than rebuilt for each one.

Valtatech is software vendor agnostic. The technology named here is what this client selected; we start from requirements, operating model and existing systems. See how we approach Source to Pay →
